Where was I when the punk kids of my generation decided to change the laws of dating?? Ladies-we already had the women’s rights movement! We got our rights. Why take away the wonderful privileges that come with being a woman? We work hard. We “birth” the children. We cook, we clean (or at least we should), and most of us have jobs. Allow a man to open your door, bring you flowers, and pick up the bill. If he likes you- HE will ask YOU out! I have to date outside my generation to get some respect. The boys that are my age have realized they can get away with anything! And they will because we let them. I want a real man. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve picked up the bill plenty of times, but it was because I wanted to, not because I felt obligated to. It is happening now more than ever: the sever brings the check and my date stares blankly back at me. REALLY? Are you kidding?? I will sit here and stare you down until they close! I must have missed the email, or the meeting, or the vote that changed the love laws of history! This simple system has been in place for 100s of years. My male friends won’t even allow me to pay my share of the bill when we go out…my dad even picks up my girlfriends’ tabs when we go out. It’s all about RESPECT. The man courts the woman. The man picks up the bill. That’s how it goes, ladies. That’s how it is. It has been like that forever. Who was it that came along and jumbled it all up? I would really like to know. Everything was great back when the man worked and the woman held down the home. Divorce was almost non-existent. Do what’s natural ladies….follow the laws of love. Know your role. And men-don’t allow those lost ladies to pay-take back the bill and pay it yourself!! It’s ok to pay guys-I promise!! It worked for hundreds of years-stop jacking with history!!!!
